One of the bands called The High Fives was originated in Fairfax, Virginia. This epic band consisted of seven very talented members. Danny Crawford on drums, Matt Geist on guitar, Mitch Kordella on bass, Beau Hoffman on vocals, Russel Fielding on tenor sax, and Mike Albanese and Colleen Trempe on trombone. They recorded one demo to date. This was a ska band, if genre were to be decided upon. They played at many shows, including Jaxx and various graduation parties, in which began the following of devoted fans. Their songs consisted of lyrical stories, some fictional, some about normal party scenarios. In 2007 though, most of the members departed to go to college. Sometimes there are reunions in which the band jams together, but there has not been a true show since the break-up. They are currently auditioning for a UVA battle of the bands. They will eventually reunite for real, many believe, and when they do, they shall be unstoppable, and bigger than ever. |
