While Dando’s penchant for melody-driven tunes makes him a favorite amongst the indie community, his song structures display obvious punk and 80s-rock influences, especially on earlier albums, as well as a hint of country here and there, most noticeably on Dando’s solo album, Baby I’m Bored. Probably their best known song is their cover version of the Simon and Garfunkel classic Mrs Robinson, from the album Its A Shame About Ray, which charted well on both sides of the Atlantic. After a nine-year hiatus following their previous album, Car Button Cloth, Dando has reformed the band with ex-members of the Descendents to record a new self-titled album, The Lemonheads. A famous cover is Skulls from The Misfits |
