After the resounding success of their 2009 debut album, Lost in City Lights, Montreal’s The New Cities are ready to drop their sophomore album, Kill the Lights on Tuesday, September 27. This release features the hit single “Heatwave”, as well as the brand new single “C.L.O.N.E.”.
Known for their outrageously energetic live show, the band spent the past two years touring across Canada, the U.K., and France. Their single, “Dead End Countdown,” reached Gold status and had them playing with the likes of Simple Plan, Marianas Trench, Metric and Katy Perry. Awards and accolades came pouring in; including a MuchMusic Video Award nomination, a JUNO Award nomination for New Group of the Year, and in songwriting with a SOCAN award.
Melding elements of classic synth-pop to the power of dance and punk, their music has an intensely infectious sound, which has been featured on hit TV shows including Gossip Girl and Degrassi: The Next Generation. |
