The Snugsound 45’s are; Swaby, Baler, Jaddis & Tarlos accompanied by the talents of Miss Hannah Collins & Miss Leah Symons (vocals), Mr T (Guitar) and The Babyhead Horns (horns). Their regionally famed ‘Friday Night Chicken Shack’ was a second home to the likes of Shepdog (Freestyle Records), John Stapleton (Dope on plastic/ Evil Kitty), Boca 45 (Pitch / Vertigo Sounds / Dynamo Productions), Dr Rubberfunk (Boogiedown), Andy Smith (Portishead / Dynamo Productions / The Document) and Steady Diggin Workshop to name but a few, rocking with the degenerates all too often. It was only when they decided to step into the studio with song child Leah Symons for the Freestyle Records debut ‘Strugglin’ that the hurt that they’re so used to putting on you, became a wildly talked about project. Raw as broken egg beats, heavy ass bass, vintage vocals and filthy horns are their trademark It was only recently they decided to step into the studio with local song child Leah Symons to lay down the dusty funk of “Strugglin”. Stepping up to remix duties are Australia’s Rephrase, giving it a quirky funk-breaks twist and Kingtons very own Steady Diggin Workshop who up the neck-snap boom-bap factor for the floor. The Snugs’ debut album was released in summer 2008. |
