The band’s sound is a lush mix of edgy, delay laden guitars, anchored with catchy bass hooks and hypnotic drum beats. Dark and brooding, yet explosive and uplifting. The music for their self titled EP was recorded at The Space studios in the Lower East Side with Producer/Engineer, Guy Benny (previous clients include Interpol, White Light Motorcade, and The Rapture). They are in the process of recording a full length debut with Mark Lewis (previous clients include Flyleaf and White Light Motorcade) entitled “Sin Will Find You Out”. The record promises to take their musical landscapes to the next level and really showcase the broad spectrum the band is now starting to implement into their repertoire. The Sugar Report has quickly become a New York City favorite, frequenting indie rock venues such as The Bowery Ballroom, Hiro Ballroom, Pianos, Fontana’s, Sin-e, Crash Mansion, The Annex, and the legendary CBGB. Their strong word of mouth following has allowed them to perform on the KEXP stage for CMJ, and have earned them requests to play open slots at SXSW. Their fan base, however, is not confined to the island between the Hudson and East Rivers. One look at their Myspace page beckons international appeal, reaching fans as far as the UK, France, Austria, Germany, The Czech Republic, Australia, Japan, and Hong Kong. For the remainder of 2007 the band continues to remain prolific and increase their fan base by expanding their repertoire, recording their debut full length, and polishing their live act by touring nationally.| |
