The Suncars is tagged as: indie, alternative rock, rock, pop, britpop The Suncars were formed in Essex, England in 1996 and split in 1999. This seminal Britpop act is one of the great lost bands of the 1990’s and recorded one classic album ‘Baby Shaped Exhaust’ which included the singles ‘Crash’, ‘Going Solo’ and ‘Beachcomber’. The band split before the release of what would have been their fourth single ‘Into Remission’. The band comprised of songwriter and guitarist Ross Thomas, frontman Justin Archer, brothers Chris and Kevin Hill on guitar and drums respectively and a string of bass players a’la Spinal Tap - the longest serving being original bassist Ben Marchant who lasted a year with the group. The band were crowned Essex Battle Of The Bands champions in 1998 and were tipped for success but internal tensions always prevented the band from achieving their potential. A handful of comeback shows have since been staged, firstly in 2001 then again in 2004 with the original lineup and finally in 2005. A Suncars group exists on Facebook and includes video clips and photos of the band. For more information email [email protected]... Read More About The Suncars Biography...
