Theodosia Tsatsou has been born and grew in Melbourne of Australia. Having studies music and dance, she has participated in small groups and theatrical teams which dealt with school representations and extracts of known musicals. In her seventeen’s, she returned in Greece, making Thessaloniki her permanent residence, where she finished her studies in the Government owned Theatre of Northern Greece. Afterwards, she completed her musical studies and got her degree on the English literature. |In Thessaloniki, he met up with George Papapostolou, founding member of group “Ble”, and this acquaintance led to collaboration to the pre-mentioned band. “Ble” circulated, in 1996, the album “Enoches”, in which Theodosia undertook the vocals. The disk has been particularly successful, with tracks as “Niotho enoxes” (a.k.a. I feel guilties) , “Fovamai” (a.k.a. I am afraid) and “Esi den xzeis pouthena” (a.k.a. You live nowhere) ” which were often played in the radio and they became familiar in the world. The group presented material which moved in the Pop/Rock area with intensely Blues/Funk elements, styles that suits in the interpretation and the style of Theodosia.|However, Theodosia withdrew from the group next year and she followed solo career, beginning her effort in 1999 with disk “Ipoptos Kosmos” (a.k.a. Suspect world) , who is the first disk in which Theodosia participated musically and also lyrical. It is a musical unit which goes round the circle of life and begins from the bottom of thought and rises at the top of the feelings. With the circulation of “Ipoptos Kosmos ” , Theodosia starts appearances in the musical scene “Metro”, and afterwards she gives concerts acrooss Greece. The summer of the same year, she participates in the concert of “Parliament of Adolescents” in Kallimarmaro, Athens.|In the next two years it participates in the album of Pyx Lax, a Greek band, named “Ta dokaria sto grasidi perimenoun ta paidia” (a.k.a. The timbers in the grass are waiting for the children), interpreting along with them the songs “Mono gia ekini mi mou les” (a.k.a. Do not tell e about her) and “Sto ema mou alazei o keros” (a.k.a. In my Blood, the weather changes). Afterwards she gives two concerts with the pre-mentioned band in Lycabbettus Theatre, in Athens. Also she participates in the album of Mode Plagal, another Greek band, ” III” , interpreting with a unique performance the song “Ta pedia tis gitonias sou” (a.k.a. The children of your neighborhood) and in disk “Gefires stis taratses”(a.k.a. Bridges in flat roofs) , of the band Maskes interpreting the song “Agaan Graan”.|At the same time she seeks the material of her next album and thus comes in contact with various artists and musicians as Giannis Nastas (Xaxakes), Kleon Antoniou (Mode Plagal) and Giorgos Michas. The result of all this search was her second album “Kokkino” (a.k.a. Red) that was released during the spring of year 2002. In this album, Theodosia, apart from the interpretation, writes lyrics and music for certain songs and Giannis Nastas undertakes the instrumentation. This album is the most variform of her career, with songs that vary from meditative rhythms such as the “Let the music” , or the “Pou na ‘se tora” (a.k.a. Where are you now) , until the sweet blows of aestival love such as the “Sti Thalasa” (a.k.a. In the sea). With this album, Theodosia Tsatsou gained a high place within the Modern Greek musical scene.|The winter of 2006, her new record was circulated under the name “Sti leoforo tis Evas” (a.k.a. In Eve’s higway). The important difference with the previous album “Kokkino” is that it is moved in perfectly different sound and style it raps through “Oriona”, a song of the album,”Sti leoforo tis Evas” (a.k.a. In Eve’s higway) and “Kato apo ti zoni” (a.k.a. Under the belt). The music of the album was jointly signed by Theodosia and Paul Stefanidis while the lyrics exclusively by her, with the exception of the attendance of Giota Davlara in the introductive song of the album “Pios ise esi pou me kitas” (a.k.a. Who are you that looking at me). The experimentations and the innovations are obvious in all of the ten compositions. The conception of a united idea, that is to say the internal, feminine search for self-knowledge and sentimental justice, shows that functions correctly, without putting in the material labels and leading to stereotype confessions. The sincerity in the lyrics of “Thelo na se do” (a.k.a. I want to see you) is the most persuasive proof. From February 2007 and for few performances, Theodosia makes live appearances in the musical scene “Metro”, along with Manos Pirovolakis. Her new album under the title “A-gapisou” (a.k.a. Love yourself) released two years later on July 2009. The disk begins with rock elements, with Manolis Karantinis giving his best with the bouzouki (a greek instrument) and Theodosia rocking and obviously enjoys it and she set foot on the original sound of wearing the mask of the heroine which she created, Babalou! As a production, however, the most exceptional moment of the album is probably the song “Gimni Sokolata” (a.k.a. Naked Chocolate), an enjoyable blues piece that someone would probably believe that it was composed by some type of mentor in these type of songs, but hiding behind again … Babalou that even here literally took over the interpretation! Experiments are widespread in this work. Each song has its own personality, keeps its own secrets, gives to Theodosia a unique opportunity to spread her voice and trick the world in her games … The lyrics are cleverly written and those with several hints and smart quotes and whenever necessary with the necessary eroticism. After the release of her new album, Theodosia made a return to live appearances in the capital of Greece, Athens, with an appearance at the Technopolis in Gazi. In autumn 2009, she continued her live performances both in Thessaloniki (Block 33) and Athens (Kittaro).| |
