The band got some interest from major labels after releasing their first CD “Sunlight & Toys” under the name Stereo Popsicle. Unsure how to market a Black Rock band, label execs sent them to the Urban Department which didn’t fit their Rock sound. The band responded by changing their name to Three5Human after the historical Three-Fifths Compromise of 1787 in which slaves were counted as three-fifths of a person. “Flying Below the Radar”, released in 2005, was the first LP released under the current name Three5Human. They signed with Anaphora Music in 2006 and released their second LP “A Swig from the Acid Bottle” in 2007. Three5Human’s influences include Band of Gyspys, Huey P Newton, Bad Brains, Aerosmith, King’s X, Miles Davis and Angela Davis.
