There is more than one artist with this name: 1. Tuesday was a Pop-Punk/Emo band that was formed by three ex-members of the Chicago Ska band Slapstick after the latter’s 1996 breakup. Dan Andriano (bass/vocals), Matt Stamps (guitar), and Rob Kellenberger (drums/vocals) released their first EP Early Summer on Asian Man Records in 1997. Later in the year, they released their first (and only) LP, Freewheelin’. They acquired a second guitarist, Tyler Wiseman, and toured the U.S. in support of Freewheelin’. Shortly thereafter, Andriano was asked by Matt Skiba to join his band, Alkaline Trio, and Andriano became the band’s bassist. Alkaline Trio gained popularity very quickly, and their hectic schedule gave Andriano very little time to devote to Tuesday. Andriano continued to play with Tuesday for almost another year, although shows became more and more sparse. Kellenberger got married, and eventually Tuesday went on hiatus in 1998. Rob Kellenberger played drums for The Smoking Popes reunion show, but could not go on tour with the band because of prior plans. 2. Tuesday was a British band that was previously called Casino. Their song “Sewing Machine” has featured on various compilation samplers. |
