Tuner Cody began his career at the fabled Sidewalk Cafe. He has toured Europe with Ish Marquez and as the opener/bass player for Herman Dune, with whom he has worked closely since 2003. You can see Cody most recently in the guise of the folk icon of the time in Jeffrey Lewis’ Williamsburg Will Oldham Horrour music video. When he is not writing and recording, Cody dances to klezmer music at Williamsburg’s Hassid meets Hipster, which he helped found in 2004, and spins records with Adam Green in East Village. As a singer/songwriter, he follows the paths of Woody Guthrie, Bob Dylan or Daniel Johnston. Cody appeared on the 2002 compilation, Antifolk Vol. 1 released by Rough Trade, alongside The Moldy Peaches, Jeffrey Lewis, Diane Cluck, and others.
