WC began his career with underground rap groups such as Low Profile and The Maad Circle before forming supergroup Westside Connection with gangsta rap heavyweights Ice Cube and Mack 10. Their 1996 debut album, Bow Down, became a sizeable hit, going platinum and charting #2 on the Billboard album chart, with the title track reaching #21 on the singles charts. His 1998 solo debut The Shadiest One landed in the Top 20, featuring such singles as “Cheddar”, “Just Clownin’” and “Better Days”. The cassette-single version of “Better Days” featured Jon B. on backup vocals. The Ghetto Heisman followed in 2002 and featured the song “The Streets”, which also landed in the Top 20. His next album is titled “Guilty by Affiliation”, which is in progress and is expected to be released in 2006 on Ice Cube’s Lench Mob Records. The upcoming album is already advertised on Ice Cube’s Laugh Now, Cry Later album. |
