Kafani “The Ice King” and Kashmere “Kash” of the Babyface Assassins have planted themselves in Californias rap scene on their own, starting from the ground up. Growing up in East Oakland this duo built a thirteen year long friendship that eventually developed into the business relationship they have now. Babyface Assassins describe their music as bold and exotic with a splash of hyphy. This duo has collaborated with some of Californias foremost musical heavyweights such as; Too $short, Yukmouth, Choppa, Freeway, more recently Keak Da Sneak, and many more. Kafani is now working on a solo mixtape called “Money’s my Motivation”. The Mixtape features many artists and currently has a single spinning in rotation in bay area radio stations. The first song entitled “Fassst” featuring Keak Da Sneak, is a club hit that gives listeners a chance to hear the level this mixtape is on. Babyface Assassins are on a business level most artists take years to reach, they have a veteran outlook on the music industry, with a new age unique persona. Kafani stated, “Everyday is a struggle, but we strive to grow. Each day we get more fans because we work hard, we keep on grindin.” The Babyface Assassins have a unique image, Sex appeal, and an extremely original lyrical style that sets them apart from rap duos across the nation. Their songs are being noticed regionally and nationally. Kafani and Kashmere have gained major popularity with their song featuring Keak Da Sneak entitled Everybody Know my Name.This colaborative track has been played on mix shows and in clubs across California, generating a buzz in the hip hop communities that hasnt been seen for quite a long time. In the past few months Babyface Assassins second single “Hyphy Ill” has been getting several plays each week in the bay. With a recent radio campaign in the southwest region of the united states, this duo is developing a large and faithful fan base. Along side their new single, Babyface Assassins released a video, which is a major move. In April of 2006 Babyface Assassins released their first Mixtape/ DVD: Ka$h Money, Da Colla 1. This mixtape/ DVD is full of entertaining bay area hyphy action with several guest appearances. |
