Prior to One Tree Hill, Bethany spent most of her acting career on the stage. She has called Musical theater her passion, and has performed in various productions of “Annie”, “The Wizard of Oz”, “Gypsy”, “Cinderella”, etc… After moving from Texas to New York, Bethany portrayed Michelle Bauer Santos on CBS’s “The Guiding Light”. When her two year contract ended there, she left New York and moved to Los Angeles and guest starred on shows like “Charmed”, “Felicity”, and “The Guardian.” She also appeared in Los Angeles stage productions of “The Outsiders” and “Happy Days”. Bethany Joy is also an accomplished singer. In the 2005 season of OTH Bethany joined, Tyler Hilton, Gavin DeGraw and the Wreckers on the 25-city “One Tree Hill” Tour. Turning in to a big year Bethany Joy signed a recording contract with Sony/Epic Records. Her original music has been inspired mostly by artists such as Sheryl Crow, James Taylor, Fiona Apple and Billy Joel. Her expected album release never came, and instead, Bethany joined forces with other bands. Enation’s song “Feel This” became a hit after she sang it on OTH. Bethany is now in a two person band called Everly. |
