Casely, born Jean Carlos Casely, is Miami’s new R&B sensation destined to take the music industry by storm. Born and raised in South Florida to Trinidadian and Panamanian parents, his road to music and performing began at the tender age of 7. Due to this budding star’s innate talent and love for music, he attended Parkway Middle School of the Arts to receive classical vocal training and continued to develop his musical skills with piano and guitar lessons. Currently, Casely has completed his freshman year at the world-renowned Berklee College of Music in Boston, Mass. where he attends on full music scholarship. Casely’s musical style has been compared to the likes of Usher, R. Kelly and Alicia Keys. He credits his style to embracing and studying the legendary 70’s soul singer Donny Hathaway as well as being mentored by R&B legend Walter Clive Orange of the Commodores. Casely is a true artist, singer, dancer & musician who takes pride in playing instruments such as piano and guitar, writing his own material and perfecting his electric stage show. In 2005, he released his debut album I’ll Be on the 1st Records label. The album caught the attention of the Diaz Brothers, who signed him to their own division of Epic Records in 2007.His second album, 1985, will be released in 2008; its lead-off single, “Emotional” (which Casely wrote himself), was released in February 2008 and has entered the Billboard Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs charts.| |
