The band only started playing one year ago, but has already played several renowned festivals in Norway, including Ekko ([link]http://www.ekkofest.no/[/link]), NuMusic ([link]http://www.numusic.no/[/link]), Vossajazz ([link]http://www.vossajazz.no/[/link]), Festspillene ([link]http://www.fib.no[/link]) and By:larm ([link]http://www.bylarm.no/[/link]) to name a few. Casiokids has in no time become one of the most exciting electronic acts in Norway. Casiokids has also been well recieved in France where they played in Rennes, Amiens and Paris october 2005. The music ranges from childish naivism to dark, harder grooves, but addictive melodies also play an important role in this melting pot of improvisation and absurdness. The samples used are taken from Norwegian radio shows for children, cassette-books about Africa, and interviews (done by the band) of young communist activists. The shadow puppet group Figuraturus tells the story of the starving tribe of African robots hunting for food. The band released it’s first record named “Fuck MIDI!” late 2006. It is out on the local label Karisma/TUBA!. Members are Ketil Kinden Endresen, Omar N’Dur, Fredrik Øgreid Vogsborg, Matias Monsen, Einar Olsson and Kjetil Bjøreid Aabø. Shadow Puppet Captain is Aslak Helgesen. |
