John Olav Nilsen & Gjengen are a norwegian band from Loddefjord in Bergen. The band was created in 2007. They play a mixture of pop, rock, soul og punk which they like to refer to as “streetpop”. All the lyrics are in Norwegian. The band consists of John Olav Nilsen (vocals), Andrew Amorim (drums), Lars Eriksen (guitar), Daniel Maranon (percussion), Tim Bjerke (bass) and Alastair Guilfoyle (keyboard/synthesizer).
John Olav Nilsen & Gjengen have played numerous concerts on the west-coast of Norway but also at larger festivals like Øyafestivalen in Oslo and Slottsfjellfestivalen in Tønsberg to mention some. In September 2009 the band released their debut album named “For Sant Til Å Være Godt” under the record company VME Voices Music & Entertainment.
The album has been praised by the media and has ranked high on Norwegian top lists. |
