|Farrah Franklin (born Farrah Destiny Franklin on May 3, 1981 in Fresno, California to an Italian father and an African American mother) is an American singer, actress, and model. In 2000, she joined the multi-platinum girl group Destiny’s Child. She and Michelle Williams were introduced in the music video for “Say My Name” (although Franklin was already featured as an extra in Destiny’s Child’s video for Bills, Bills, Bills), replacing original members LeToya Luckett and LaTavia Roberson. She also appeared in the music video for “Jumpin’ Jumpin’” and her vocals can be heard on “Independent Women Part 1 (vocals are rumored to have been removed from the album version)”, “Jumpin’ Jumpin” (Azza’s Remix & WMBA Version), and “Dance With Me”. Five months after joining Destiny’s Child, Franklin resigned. In 2005, Franklin embarked on a solo career; she is slated to be working on a new album. Franklin has appeared in the feature films Trippin and The Brewster Project. Currently, she is also to star in the forthcoming independent horror film, Eyes of Darkness and Single Black Female. She also appeared in the Mr. Cheeks video, “Crush On You”. Farrah is currently working on her self titled album. It was heard that she will write and executive produce her project,of which she currently has 12 songs penned. It is rumored that she’s engaged to NBA Star Ron Artest. She’s been in many magazines of which including Smooth,King,Black Men and Source. |
