HEADSTRONG aka ’Don Jackson first got into dance Music in the early 90’s. Around those times DJ’s like Sasha, Carl Cox, Pete Tong and Paul Oakenfold] were the main source of inspiration for HEADSTRONG.|Don had always been a guitarist and songwriter in Indie bands up until then touring the country on a regular basis. It wasnt until visiting clubs like ‘The Eclipse’ in Coventry and and various clubs in leeds that he became totally hooked on the dance Scene.
After experimenting with synths and an atari computer in a makeshift bedroom studio Don soon got into the vibe of a good tune and entered a ‘comp’ on TV on BBC2. His track reached the final 3 out of hundreds of thousands of entries. The final was judged by Pete Tong.
After a huge American record deal fell through Don decided to take time out and tour with a band again writing and playing guitar. |5 years later he was blown away by the trance scene with oakenfold and Matt Darey pressing all the right buttons. Headstrong were revitalised and ready for action. This was just the kind of vibe he had been waiting for.|Headstrong put together a tune called ‘Euphoria Sunset’ and keen to push his own new sound sent the track to Judge Jules at radio 1. Jules had it on his radio 1 show that very week and Elevated HEADSTRONG into the limelight. |HEADSTRONG’s first major success was a tune called ‘Close your eyes’ feat Tiff Lacey which is still been supported massively by all the top dj’s like Tiesto, Armin van Buuren, Judge Jules, Paul Oakenfold etc etc|This tune was signed by Matt Darey’s new label Dareyproducts.|Amazing remixes were soon to follow from Matt himself, Factoria and progressive king ‘Andy Moor under his new alias Dwight van Mann.|This record was and still is a global smash.|Soon to follow is Headstrong - Show me the love’ the folow up to ‘close your eyes’ with Tiff again on vox.
This tune blew up massive and remixes from Adam White etc have been huge.|‘Show me the love’ is all set to be another Global smash for HEADSTRONG and couldnt have got a better start than it did.
Judge Jules was again the first to play the tune on his radio 1 show but made it his ‘Tried and Tested’ tune of the week . With a start like that yet again the wheels were soon in motion.|Don has also ventured in to new directions recently. He has written some acoustic material and done work with ‘Kirsty Hawshaw’ who sung two outstanding songs on ‘Tiesto’s album.|Headstrong have also teamed up with Matt Darey, Larry Love from Alabama 3 & Tall Paul to unvail a rock house Anthem called ‘No-Submission, which looks set to be a monster hit. Headstrong feel the scene is in a transition at the moment and there is going to be some fantastic new tunes set for release with a whole new twist on the dance scene. Watch out for a new genre!
His latest project :|Headstrong & Andrea britton - Fallen ’ has got off to a flying start with support from BBc Radio 1 and Kiss FM.|This brilliant Minimal Electro House tune has ‘’ hit written all over it’’ as recented quoted from Judge Jules. |Watch out for more tunes from Don jackson and Andrea britton as this combination looks set to be huge.
HEADSTRONG wishes to thank Judge Jules for giving him the Support Artists strive for|Plus and all the radio, magazines and DJ’s that have supported his work.|‘’It’s been a pleasure so far. I cant wait to get out the new stuff in 2007’‘
