Having shared the stage with prominent artists like Maroon 5, Gavin DeGraw, Howie Day, Tonic and Five for Fighting, Jes started playing piano at the age of 8. By 13 she was performing her own compositions at the legendary Caffe Lena Open Mic Night in Saratoga Springs, NY.
Jes headed into the studio to record her first album, ‘In There Somewhere,’ which was released in the spring of 1997 into the anxiously awaiting hands of her fellow ninth graders.
After a brief stint at Umass/Amherst, Jes felt the itch to get away from books and theory, and to get back into the studio. Returning to Saratoga, she recorded her second album, ‘Tiny Dream,’ released in the spring of 2002.
In the few years since, Jes has appeared as a top contestant on both CBS Rockstar: Inxs and Fox’s American Idol. She toured with Enrique Iglesias as the sole female backup singer for the Central American leg of his Insomniac 2008 tour, including performances at the isle of MTV in Malta, and the closing ceremony of the Eurocup 2008 in Vienna, Austria. She was invited to sing the National Anthem at Giants Stadium, and to perform the Tom Jones song, ‘Chills and Fever’ for a national Pantene commercial.
Jes was just selected to perform at the Los Angeles Lilith Fair on July 10, 2010, after winning the SoCal Lilith Fair Contest on Ourstage.com. She was also named ISSA’s Singer/Songwriter of the Year 2009, and won Pop Single of the Year 2009 at the LA Music Awards for her original song “Another Day.” Recently, Jes won the Billboard World Song Contest in Pop for “National Holiday,” and her music video for “No One In The World” was selected as AOL’s Featured Music Video of The Day.
You can pick up a copy of Jes’ new EP ‘National Holiday’ on iTunes, CDBaby, Amazon, and Rhapsody, and of course, always at a live show.
Jes has been appearing regularly in California and New York, at the most popular venues on both coasts, including The Bitter End, Rockwood Music Hall, The Living Room, Arlene’s Grocery, The Mint, Genghis Cohen, and The Hotel Cafe.
