She has also won many local, national and international awards for her beautiful and moving songs. In 2004 she was awarded the Songwriter Award by national song association, APRA, in the national Musicoz competition. 2006 followed with a JB Seed Award from Australia’s top Independent musician, John Butler, recognising Jessica as an outstanding emerging artist. This enabled her to tour with her band of Paige Boys from Melbourne to Brisbane and back in support of her EP release “Under My Skin”. In March 2008 Jessica was invited by APRA to perform her songs at the national S3 Song Summit in Sydney. Jessica is performing in solo, duo (with her brother Josh Romig) and band modes (as 5 piece band “Jess & the Paige Boys”). Her songs are folky, contemporary, poetic, poignant and mostly ballads. However when performing with the band there is a set of originals with more uptempo grooves.|Jessica performs over 100 gigs a year and has been running a Jess & Friends Jam night at The Spleen Bar (41 Bourke Street, Melbourne) for 18 months and enjoys meeting, networking, jamming with new musos.|She is always beavering away with several projects on the go, including co-writing and recording with several excellent songwriters, writing commissions, demoing and recording her own material, and singing session vocal work. In the last year Jessica has played in Sydney, Adelaide, Canberra and will play at South Australia’s Fleurieu Peninsula Folk festival soon. She supported well-known Aussies Xavier Rudd and Mark Seymour at recent festivals.| |
