Miss Issa (aka Issa Bayaua) was born in San Diego and is the youngest of five siblings. She moved to Los Angeles to try her luck in the city of opportunity and in late 2004 obtained an audition for TLC’s television show “R U the Girl” where she secured a finalist position. However, when the contract was sent to her, Issa became concerned about limiting her options. She felt if she could land a position as finalist for “R U the Girl,” she could probably find some other opportunities as well, so she decided to gamble and explore other avenues. She was introduced to Kairi Bown, who recognized the potential she had and quickly signed her to Sound on Sound Entertainment.
Her debut album, Hurt No More (Bungalow/Universal), was released on March 27, 2007 and was followed with singles Stay Up Ft. Fat Joe (2006), Let Me Be The One Ft. Jim Jones and Boss Lady Ft. Trina (2008). In Addition to singing busty Miss Issa has done a lot of modelling, including Maxim magazine.
Issa’s songs convey love to that special someone, along with some good upbeat party songs, and a song that celebrates a farewell to an ex who doesn’t appreciate what he had. Her music combines sensual R&B vocals with catchy dance grooves for a unique, sexy sound. Production credits include Big Bert (J-Lo), Dom and Blake, Del Pearson, and Marc Kinchen. Issa is very happy with the results and is excited to share her music with the world.
