Based in Sydney, the band has been touring almost relentlessly since their formation, determined to prove that independent bands can make it in Australia. Within six months of forming, the band released their debut EP “Pennylane” at the The Metro in Sydney, to a crowd of 200. After the release, the band began an epic tour of Australia, with shows in every state and territory except NT. At the start of 2007, the band parted ways with bassist Sam Clayton, who was replaced by current member, Pete Nu. Later that year, My Future Lies competed in the UncharTED competition, where they were runners up to the group Krill. Thanks to their involvement in the competition, the band scored a number of performances on MTV Australia’s live music program, “The Lair.” In December 2007, the band began work on their debut album, and released the single “Kissing You In The Driveway” to help cover the costs of recording. The album was completed early in 2008, and was entitled “Future Lies.” The album was launched to a big crowd on 28th March, 2008 and was then followed up by another mammoth tour of the country. On 20th July, 2008, the band announced that after a long deliberation, they had decided to change their name, as they weren’t happy with Acid Eyeliner. They posted an announcement on their Myspace page, outlining the reasons that led to this decision. At some point during 2009, the band parted ways with long-time drummer, Murray “Danger” Sherridan, with no reason given as to why. He was quickly replaced with current member Chung. This left Lukey Lukess as the only original member of the band. The band’s current line-up consists of:|Lukey Lukess - Vocals/Guitar|Pete Nu - Bass|Chung - Drums |
