Dubliner NINA HYNES released her debut album CREATION in 1999 and soon ventured out on several U.S. tours in 2000/2001 to support the album. The tours successfully spanned the length/breadth of the USA’s alternative scene with Nina’s solo electro-alternative sound in tow. Amazon.com voted it No. 44 in their TOP 100 RELEASES OF THE YEAR. HITS Magazine called it “The last amazing find of 2000.” Often compared to Bjork, Cat Power and Stereolab, NINA is actually quite unique. Nina’s album STAROS was recorded in Studio Black Box in France with many of her favorite musicians including The Frames helping out. The first single from the album, Mono Prix, was re-mixed by the legendary Steve Osborne (Perfecto), whose work includes New Order, Doves, U2, Placebo, and PJ Harvey among others. Nina has now released her first album in five years (13/04/2007) titled “Really Really Do” on her own label and is touring Europe as we speak. She has just signed the album to the Berlin-based label Kitty-Yo who plan to give it a worldwide release in October 2007. It will have a digital release prior to that on September 28th. In December 2008 Nina wrote a song for a Christmas compilation called ‘An Indiecater Christmas’ which was put out by Indiecater Records.| |
