After the first cool and jazzy trio album (I don’t know yet, 2006), the band is going on with more intense and energic rocky sounds, space bossa, chewin’ gum-surf, or smooth psychedelics, while keeping the freedom of jazz improvisation. The music has live partying aspects and more introspective, like film-music aspects too.|„A girl came to me after a gig and she said she liked it”, says Márton Sütő guitarist, while enumerating the endless successes of the band. They had concerts at prestigious hungarian venues like the Palace of Arts, the A38 ship, the Sziget festival. They also made the 1st part of renown Ninja Tune artist Bonobo in october 2008 at Merlin Klub, Budapest.|The original band Smarton trio, as a guitar-bass-drums trio, was formed in 2003 in the frame of the jazz department of the Franz Liszt Music Academy of Budapest, where the three members graduated in 2004. The „+1” refers to the 4th musician on keyboards, Mátyás, who joined at the end of 2007 and who also attended to the Music Academy. The two other members are Zoltán Kovács on the double bass and Hunor G. Szabó on the drums. All three got their degree at the Budapest Academy of Music in 2004. The music is an exciting combination of jazzy, blues, rock, pop and folk influences. The band was formed in the winter of 2003 and started performing from next spring. Since then, they are recurring guests of hungarian festivals and Budapest clubs. The band was awarded a first prize by prominent hungarian musicians at a the Budapest Jazz Contest in November 2003.|The first LP of the trio (2006, I don’t know yet) is available now.
