The band formed in Sydney, Australia, in 2004 and currently comprises lead vocalist and guitarist Alex Burnett, keyboardist, guitarist and vocalist Tiffany Preece, bassist and vocalist Nick Rabone and drummer David Hall. The band found commercial success when their debut album Postcards peaked at #23 on the ARIA albums chart. The band formed in Annandale, Sydney, in 2004. The band started out as a project between lead vocalist Alex Burnett and drummer David Hall. The collaboration between the two wasn’t considered serious until Jamie Davis, of British label Ark Recordings, heard their work when here for a friend’s wedding. Burnett described the signing as a “fantasy story”, saying “He basically signed us because of the songs and the vibe - he hadn’t even seen us live”. More luck ensued as Davis played some of their demos for friend Ben Hillier, co-producer of British indie rock band Elbow’s second album, Cast of Thousands, as well as working with the likes of Blur, Doves, The Horrors and Depeche Mode.
