The Vickers were born at the end of 2006. Their sound is mainly influenced by british pop-rock sometimes mixed with the american folk-rock tradition. Between 2007 and 2008 they have been playing many gigs in live-music pubs and festivals. They recorded their first demo, “The Vickers” (4 tracks), at the end of 2007. In January 2008 they have been chosen by David Bash for playing at the International Pop Overthrow (IPO), traveling music festival, for the Liverpool’s Cavern stage held from the 20 and the 26 of May. After the english mini-tour, the band signed with the indipendent label Foolica Records. Their debut album “Keep Clear” was released 13th february 2009. The album was positively received by the most important national musical revues and international blogs and webzines. From March 2009 the band appeared on national magazines like GQ, and their songs are currently getting airplay on important radios like Radio RAI (Radio Televisione Italiana). |
