The ingredients for your favorite musical treat have never been simpler. Take the knockout beauty and incomparable Queen of Crunk, Rasheeda, known worldwide as the tasty Georgia Peach. Combine her with the sweet zest of the Platinum selling Songwriter, Kandi, notoriously known as Kandi Girl. The result is the sweetest flavor to ever hit the music scene, a duo known simply as Peach Candy. One half of the lip smacking treat is the, Georgia Peach, Rasheeda, who was first introduced into the music scene as part of the hip hop trio “Da Kaperz”. Since her solo departure she has been all to busy dominating the streets, lacing songs with her take-no prisoner lyrics, and further establishing herself as the ever fruitful and talented Georgia Peach. Her first release via Motown Records in 2001 was the southern diary, Dirty South, which spawned the southern anthem “Do It (Do Da Damn Thang) with Pastor Troy. Other collaborations over the years include Petey Pablo, Akon, Fabo, Lil Jon, Lil Scrappy, Jody Breeze, and Diamond and Princess of Crime Mob to name a few. All of which have helped to season the talents of this sweet fruit. Her 2002 release, Ghetto Dreams, the 2006 release Ga Peach, and her current chewy ladies anthem “Bubble Gum” off her 2007 release, Dat Type of Girl, all combine to create a scrumptious peach with undeniable talents ready to satisfy every listener. The other half of the duo is the sweet talent of the Platinum selling songwriter, Kandi, who made her musical emergence as part of the hit making group Xscape. After three Platinum albums, a Lady of Soul Award, and three top ten hits, her group disbanded to work on separate projects. In 1999 Kandi embarked on an ever so sweet songwriting career that has kept her all to busy behind the scenes. It has earned her a covenant Grammy Award, the honor of being the first woman to receive the prestigious ASCAP Rhythm and Soul Songwriter of the Year Award, and has helped sale over 55 million records. Her in-your-face songwriting for TLC, Destiny’s Child, Mariah Carey, Boyz II Men, Usher, Alicia Keys, Whitney Houston and more have carved her place in history as one of the “sweetest” treats behind the pen. Supplement all those songwriting credits with acclaim for performance and craft of one of the hottest ladies anthems ever, “Don’t Think I’m Not”, and also appearance on E-40’s smash hit, “U and Dat” with special guest T-pain, and you get a sugary talent proves to get sweeter everyday. A mixture of such talented entities in one group is sure to hit many listeners like “Bam“, and that is certainly what the sexy ladies of Peach Candy aim to do. Their first release, the Don Vito produced, “Bam“, finds the sexy ladies informing their male counterparts of their stance on men admiring their body but not touching, and the consequence of disobedience. An album that includes titles such as, “U Ugly”, the comedic song about the not so handsome yet rich man, and “Man Up”, a ladies request of her man to either shape up or be shipped out, Peach Candy authenticate the reason they are on the tip of everyone’s tongue. With mouth watering beauty, a track record of longevity and definite hit songs Peach Candy is the satisfaction for every sweet tooth!
